Update on our Church Building Project

We are currently in the process of gathering and purchasing the materials for the building construction. So far we have downed five trees (owned by the landowners surrounding the church lot/area) and had already them cut to size. We are going to use mahogany and lomboy for the posts and coco lumber for braces. Bamboo will be used for scaffolding.

The tentative date for the commencement of the construction proper would be January 25 2010. We are aiming to finish the church building before February ends.

The church building we are going to construct is a simple one. It is four meters wide by nine meters long. It will have eight wooden posts on top of eight one-foot concrete columns. Floor to ceiling height will be 8 feet. The floor will be 3-inch thick concrete reinforced with iron bars. The roof will be #26 Corr. G.I. Sheets. The sides of the worship hall will be open. The main hall can accommodate between 40-60 people. Extending the sides with tarpolin we can increase the number of people accommodated to 80-100. The facade will be covered with plywood with a doorway in the middle. The rear of the altar will also be covered from floor to ceiling with a wall of plywood.

We are going to construct a comfort room at the rear of the building measuring 1.5 meters by 1.5 meters and a church office/facility room measuring 1.5 meters by 2.5 meters (hopefully your donations could cover these necessary additions).

We have already contacted 4 workers to work on this project. Tentative computations have shown that we will be paying them about P700.00 per day. The foreman, a member of our church, estimates that the building can be finished in 7 days at the earliest of 10 days at the latest (considering that there will be no major glitches along the way).

Please pray for us that we will be able to finish this project within our time and budget limits. Thank you very much for being a part of this. God always bless you!
